Ramon J. Hernández Acevedo

Partner & Second Owner, Transportation Division ELGM Building, Contracting & Transportation

Ramon J. Hernandez Acevedo was born on February 11, 1958, in Colombia. Early in his marriage, he faced the profound challenge of becoming a widower and raising his five children-two daughters and three sons on his own. As a single father, he sought better opportunities to provide a better life for his family, which led him to develop a diverse set of skills across multiple industries.
In Boyacá, Colombia, Mr. Hernandez began his career with Texas Petroleum, where he worked for 12 years starting around 1992. Following this, he ventured into the livestock business, which allowed him to travel across Latin America, including Ecuador, Venezuela, and Peru, for about five years. This period was marked by significant challenges as he balanced raising his children and securing a middle-class income to provide for their education and well-being.
Seeking additional income, Mr. Hernandez opened a small ice factory in his hometown. However, the need for a safer environment and greater opportunities led him to apply for a visa to the United States. Arriving in Boston marked a new beginning, free from the threats of violence in Colombia. He started working in a warehouse where he packed and transported seeds across the country.
In 2021, Mr. Hernandez moved to Dallas and was hired by ALPHA BROTHER as a forklift operator and truck carrier. This role provided him with valuable knowledge and experience, enhancing his leadership capabilities at ELGM.
Mr. Hernandez’s perseverance, integrity, and strong work ethic have earned him the trust and respect of Mrs. Yanick Louise Angord De Armas, the CEO and President of ELGM. His human values and dedication to his work have elevated his leadership within the company. Today, he works diligently to protect and honor the opportunities presented to him, demonstrating his gratitude to God and Mrs. Yanick.
